“Souls of the Forest” – Original acrylic on canvas Painting

My submission for David Shepherd Artist of the Year 2025.

I chose to paint this beautiful orangutan because it embodies the pure essence of the souls of the forest. These magnificent beings are critically endangered and facing a rapid decline. Through this piece, I wanted to capture their vulnerability, their gentle, caring nature, and their profound importance to the world we share.

This painting is the result of many hours of work, created with acrylic on an 80 x 60 cm canvas.
